MAUREEN F. (DONAGHEY) NUNNELLEY – Of Woburn, formerly of Charlestown, died surrounded by the love of her family after a life devoted to those she cherished most.
Maureen was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride and joy in every moment spent with them. Whether gathering around the table for a holiday meal, celebrating life’s milestones, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Maureen’s greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those she loved.
Born and raised in Medford, Maureen was the beloved daughter of Irish immigrants, the late William C. Donaghey and Celia (McGonagle) Donaghey. She carried the values of family, faith, hard work, and hospitality throughout her life. A graduate of Cheverus High School in Malden, she formed many lifelong friendships and maintained a warm and welcoming spirit that endeared her to everyone she met.
Maureen was a true people person. She never met a stranger and had a natural gift for making others feel comfortable and included. Her warm smile, quick wit, and genuine interest in others allowed her to form lasting friendships wherever life took her. She treasured time spent with family and friends and was happiest when bringing people together.
Together with her beloved husband, Ed, Maureen enjoyed a lifetime of adventures and shared memories. One of her greatest pleasures was entertaining family and friends at their vacation home in Lincoln, New Hampshire. Those gatherings were filled with laughter, stories, good food, and the warmth that Maureen so effortlessly created. She loved celebrating life’s simple joys and had a remarkable ability to make every occasion feel special.
In earlier years, Maureen was an avid bowler and enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships the sport brought into her life. Whether on the lanes, at family gatherings, or among friends, she was always at the heart of the fun.
