May 10, 2026
LINDA M. (AMBROSINO) PROVOST — Of Woburn, formerly of Kingston, New York, died peacefully at home on May 10th at the age of 82.
Born in the Bronx, New York, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Emmalinda (Campos) Ambrosino. She was raised and educated in New York and was a graduate of Aquinas High School. Linda worked for many years as a home health aide, a role that reflected her caring and compassionate nature.
A devoted Catholic woman, she faithfully watched Daily Mass, prayed the Rosary daily, and rarely missed a service when she was able to attend in person. Her faith remained an important part of her life throughout the years.
Above all else, Linda’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Whether gathered around the table for family dinners, going out to eat together, talking for hours on the phone, or keeping up with everyone through FaceTime, Linda cherished staying connected to her children and grandchildren. Her family remembers her warm, loving personality and great hugs.
Linda also found tremendous happiness at the senior center, where she spent time daily and enthusiastically participated in many of the activities offered there. The friendships she formed and the time she spent there brought her great joy and happiness. She also loved bingo and any opportunity to be surrounded by family and friends. Linda took tremendous pride in her family and the close relationships she shared with each of them.
Linda was the devoted mother of Robert T. Provost Jr. and his wife Liz of East Durham, New York, Tracey Downs and her partner Michael Dunn of Woburn, Gary Provost and his wife Jennifer of Kannapolis, North Carolina, and Erin Provost of West Palm Beach, Florida. Cherished grandmother of Brittany, Bobby, John, Owen and his wife Hannah, Andrew, and Casey, and loving great-grandmother of Emory. Dear sister of Pasquale Ambrosino and his wife Ann of Delray Beach, Florida, and the late Joseph Ambrosino, and his surviving wife Patty of North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lois Provost of New York; her nieces, Kim, Sheri, and Kristen; her nephew, Anthony Ambrosino and his wife Deb; Karen DeResh and her husband Rick, all of New York, as well as her beloved neighbors and friends, the Giordano and James families.

A beautiful woman.. always so welcoming. Peace on your new journey
To all of you who know and love Linda as your mom, relative of as a friend. I have known her and loved her too. I tried to keep up with her on Facebook but I don’t beleive I have seen Lin in person in almost a decade but we remained friends. I know you are all sad and hurting for this great loss. For that you have my sincerest condolences. I am honored that Lin and I were friends for many years – 30? I dont know exactly how many. I always fell that I could be completely open and honest with Linda because she was authentic with me. I had the privilege of meeting and befriending her so many years ago and for maybe 25 or 30 years. To each of you “sibs”and grand children and to Lois and friends who love her so much for so many years all I can offer at this time is that the loss you feel now will never vanish. It will however be your salvation and inspiration going forward in life. That has been my experience with my loss of a dearly loved parent.
In the early years when we first met, the family had just moved to the farm on Lasher Road. You Provost kids were very young! I think Erin was in diapers? Perhaps not but I remember that some of you complainednthat Erin got off east in terms of doing farm chores. Bobby, Gary, Tracy who played the piano for us then were all fun to be around. You were all great kids! That was no accident because you were mothered by a Saint! Bobby and Gary were doing alot of the hard farm work for sure! Tracy too I think. Horses, chickens, pigs too? All throughout that time we laughed ao hard sometimes after a glass of wine. She cooked great lasagna for us once. At the Kingston mansion on the hill. I always enjoyed her company. We all did. However, no matter what we the adults- were doing Lin’s watchful loving eyes were always aware of where her brood was! We had fun but the perils of Life crept in among us along the way. Through pig roasts and race tracks, kids sporting events and school work at home, dinners out, new houses, businesses galore it was a real trip! Boating in Florida – the beautiful home in Sarasota. What a whirlwind. And of course there were dark times too after which she moved to live near or with Tracy — i neloeve. I could be wrong- but we who were on the perimeter of Lin’s life then were relieved for her sake. Through it all she never gave in or gave up that Im aware of where others like me might have surrendered to it! But not Lin. She survived it all through her deep faith and love of God and family. I knew — we all knew how centered and strong that woman was! Linda is a model of Love and survival thru Faith in a difficult world. Rest in peace Linda. You are lne of a kind – a “diamond in the rough”. Do not forget us whose time will come. We all hope and pray to join you way up there where only Saints are allowed to go! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
