Claire E. (Kelley) Theobald – of Woburn, died peacefully, August 6th, with her daughter and husband by her side after a lengthy battle with COPD, one day shy of her seventy-fifth birthday. Claire was the beloved wife of Martin J. “Marty” Theobald.

Born and raised in Woburn. Claire was the daughter of the late Edward Paul and Catherine (Fitzmaurice) Kelley. Claire was predeceased by her daughter Alison, and brothers Edward P. III and William J. Kelley.

Claire received her education at St. Charles, graduating from their high school in 1966. For over 27 years Claire pursued a rewarding career with Raytheon. After early retirement, Claire secured a position with Instrumentation Labs in Bedford as a Regulatory Affairs Coordinator, working for Carol Marble. The loving friendship Claire and Carol forged during that time has lasted throughout the years.

Claire had wonderful friends, but the special relationship she enjoyed with Betty Gentile stood out. Betty and Claire were close during their care-free years and more recently through the darker times. Betty’s laugh, her booming voice and her baking were much appreciated. A special thanks to her neighbor Ira and Jerry Cosmea for their friendship over the years, especially during home hospice care.

In addition to her husband Marty, Claire is survived by her daughter Kelli (Hurd) Robarge, her husband Jon of Davenport FL. Cherished sisters Maryanne “Kelly” Rademacher, her husband Donald of Sevierville TN, Kathleen M. Hurd, her husband Dale of Norton, MA. At Claire’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in her honor may be made to MSPCA at Nevins Farm, Nobel Family ACAC, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844, or a charity of one’s choice. A celebration of Claire’s life will be announced later.
