Eleanor “Ellie” M. (Peary) Dodge – a lifelong resident of Woburn, died peacefully at home, March 26th, with her family by her side, at the age of seventy-four. She was the beloved wife of Willard “Bill” Dodge.

Born and raised in Woburn, Ellie was one of nine children born of the late Frederick C. and Eleanor (Johnson) Peary. She was a graduate of Woburn High School, class of 1965. She was very athletic and involved in many sports growing up, but her favorite always being softball, which she continued to play into her 30’s where you could often hear teammates cheering her on affectionately as “Ma” as she took the plate.

For many years, Ellie worked as a clothes marker at the Marshalls Distribution Center on Commerce Way . Her life, however, was dedicated to raising and caring for her family. She was their biggest supporter and would do anything for them.

After Ellie and her husband retired, they enjoyed traveling, especially to the Little League World Series where they went 12 years in a row and she enjoyed the televised competition every year. Ellie also enjoyed weekend or day trips to area casinos. She was an active watcher of New England sports on TV and cheering her favorite teams on. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at their camp the “Honey Bee” in Gilmanton, NH where they made many lasting memories. Horn Pond provided her a chance to teach the art of patience in fishing and enjoying nature with loved ones.

Along with her husband Bill, Ellie is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, Kim Hughes, her husband Bill of Lynn, Keith O’Donnell, his wife Karin of Nashua, NH, Cherie Fuller, her husband Chuck of Londonderry, NH, and Timothy Dodge of Woburn.
