Nancy (Greenleaf) Canada – a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully, August 28th at the age of eighty-three, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Wendell R. Canada.

Raised and educated in Medford, Nancy was the only child born of the late Russell N. and Marie T. (Boudreau) Greenleaf.

For many years Nancy worked for the Woburn Public Schools, in the cafeteria at the White School in Woburn.  She truly enjoyed her role there, and making many friends over the years, young and old!

Nancy worked hard!  She dedicated herself to her family and the Lord. She volunteered her time teaching CCD at St. Charles in Woburn and was also a devout and faithful member of the National Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order. Nancy, volunteered her time and energy reaching out and helping those in need and /or administering the holy eucharist to those unable to attend Mass for one reason or another.

In her down or quiet time, Nancy enjoyed solving cross word puzzles, watching cooking shows. Over the years Nancy had developed a real interest in Snow Babies, the small figurines, soon becoming a collector of these.  She has enjoyed collecting for many, many years and had for the last few years began collecting little pigs!  She frequently visited yard sales and flee markets. Always on the lookout for a good deal!

Traveling was always fun for Nancy, near or far, east or west, with herself or members of her family, she always enjoyed wherever she was.  The best travels were often those to visit members of her family!

Nancy’s life was her family. Her home was always open to family and friends. Often enjoying  cookouts, lunches, dinners and good old chatting around the kitchen table.  There was always room for anyone who stopped by.

Her involvement in the Church, giving, helping, donating precious time, and teaching gave her tremendous hope, that the people she was reaching out too, might in time, pass it on.  A woman of great faith, and tremendous love, having lived her life to the fullest, and may now rest in peace.

Nancy is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, Paul R. Greenleaf, his wife Kesha of VA, Kevin L. Canada, his wife Grace of CA, Mary A. Canada, Keith L. Canada, Kim L. Canada-Berg all of Woburn, Juanita Canada of Framingham, and Kerry M. Canada, his wife Lisa of CA and the late Wendy R. Canada-Dixon. Cherished grandmother of Russell N. Greenleaf II, Randall A. Greenleaf and Nykol T. Greenleaf, their mother Sharon Randall, as well as grandmother and great-grandmother to many others. Also survived by her beloved caretaker and granddaughter, Margaret E. Canada and dear friend and caretaker, Auntie B. and her cherished dog, Rico.
