James C. DiPanfilo – of Woburn, died peacefully, March 20th at ninety-five years of age. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to the late Catherine “Kay” F. (Dattilo) DiPanfilo.

Born and raised in Woburn, James was a son of the late Zopito and Giacinta (Carpineti) DiPanfilo. He was educated in Woburn a graduate of Woburn High School.

Following high school on Christmas Eve, Jim went on a blind date with a girl named Kay, to the movies. After walking her home in the snow, they made another date and then married in 1949. Shortly after they married, they found the “perfect” home down by Horn Pond where they nestled right in for over the next fifty-seven years. They brought three wonderful children into the world to whom they have been devoted too. They all had the pleasure of spending their summers in Mashpee where the summer months were thoroughly enjoyed by all the family and friends too!

For many years Jim worked as a salesman for Sears.

Jim enjoyed spending time with his family. On Christmas Eve there was the traditional Italian celebration in the DiPanfilo home with the feast of the seven fishes and and all the family gathered around the dining room table. Easter was also celebrated in the same fashion throughout the years, truly all about family.

Jim and his wife Kay enjoyed traveling, be it overseas to many of the different countries or out to Colorado to visit with his brother and family, they had a ball! Walking the pond was always on docket for each day for over twenty-five years. He will be greatly missed.
