Joseph V. Hurkett – of Woburn, Saturday, September 2nd, unexpectedly at age twenty-six. Beloved son of Robert J. and Jane M.(Carroll) Hurkett. Loving brother of Peter Hurkett, Molly Hurkett both of Woburn, and Sarah Hurkett, her husband Paul Douthit of AK. Cherished uncle of Patton Douthit. OBITUARY:

Joseph V. “Joe-Guy” Hurkett, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, September 2nd. The beloved son of Robert M. and Jane M. (Carroll) Hurkett, he was twenty six years of age.

Born in Boston, Joe was raised and educated here in Woburn. Being one of four children, he was part of a set of triplets. He attended Woburn Public Schools, graduating from Woburn High School along with the Class of 2009.

Throughout his lifetime, Joe was an extremely creative artist, from three dimensional “pop up cards,” to creative award winning artistry. In high school, Joe won awards and recognition for his wonderful talents, of which some were displayed at Boston University.

An easy smile and a kind, compassionate heart made Joe loved by all who knew him. In January of 2013, he was a “match” and donated stem cells to a cancer patient, who survives today after his courageous and generous act.

Joe is lovingly survived by his family, his Dad, Robert, Mom, Jane, siblings, Peter Hurkett, Molly Hurkett, of Woburn and Sarah Hurkett, her husband Paul Douthit of AK. He is the cherished uncle of Patton Douthit.
