GRACE L. HOGAN – in Woburn, January 8th, at ninety three years of age. Beloved daughter of the late Michael and Anne (O’Leary) Hogan. Devoted sister of Richard Hogan, his wife Barbro of CT and the late Sr. Barbara, Franciscan Mission of Mary and Daniel Hogan. Dear sister in law of Ann Hogan of Woburn. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, Saturday , January 14th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn at 10 a.m. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call at the Funeral Home from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. prior to the Mass. Remembrances may be made in Grace’s memory to the Daniels House, 59 Middlesex Avenue, Reading, MA 01867.

OBITUARY:

Grace L. Hogan passed away at the Daniels House Nursing Home in Reading, Sunday, January 9th, after a lingering illness. The beloved daughter of the late Michael and Anne (O’Leary) Hogan, she was ninety-three years of age.

Born and raised in Woburn, Grace was one of four children. Educated in Woburn, Grace graduated with the Class of 1940. Upon completion of high school, she then went on to start her professional career, which spanned over forty years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, retiring in 1985.

Grace took great pride in her relationship with her brothers, sister, nieces and nephews. Always sharing holidays, birthdays, back yard cookouts or a Sunday afternoon, she spent countless hours with them all. Sister Barbara, who joined the Franciscan Mission of Mary after high school was always under Grace’s wing as the years went by, always watching out for her” little sister!. ” Sr. Barbara had travelled quite a bit throughout her ministry. Grace throughout the years remained very close with her sharing all the happenings of home and keeping up with what was happening in her life.

Grace was a person that was committed to sharing unconditional love. Her nieces and nephews meant the world to her and she treated them as her own. She never forgot a birthday or holiday and always showered them with lovely and memorable gifts.

Grace will be remembered for her style, grace and appearance. Always, very particular about how she looked and meticulous in the way she dressed, with a beautiful scarf matching all her outfits!

For the past six years Grace was lovingly cared for each and every day by the truly amazing staff at the Daniel’s House Nursing Home. The family remains forever grateful to all the staff for the wonderful care and comfort she was provided and the dignity and respect she so deserved.

Sadly, in addition to her parents, Grace was predeceased by her brother Daniel Hogan and her loving sister, Sr. Barbara, Franciscan Mission of Mary.

She is lovingly survived by her dear brother Richard Hogan, his wife Barbro of CT and her sister in law Ann Hogan of Woburn. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.   1. I was saddened to learn of Grace’s passing. I rember Grace so well. Grace always put herself out to make sure she said hi to me when she would pass our house. She always was dressed so beautiful and her hair and make up was so perfect. She was such a lovely lady.

  2. Grace was a wonderful neighbor, on Green Street, for many years. When my sister and I were little we called her “Beautiful Grace” because she always dressed so nicely and looked so pretty. Rest in Peace Beautiful Grace. Jayne Lee
