JIMMIE (KEYS) SMITH – of Woburn, April 26th. Beloved wife of the late William W. “Smitty” Smith. Devoted mother of William “Billy” Smith Jr. of Woburn. Cherished grandmother of Desiree Smith. Sister of Ann Bueford of Albany, Alice Keys of New York City, Helen Livingston and her husband Callie of Albany, Leslie Keys and his wife Donna of Virginia and the late Charlotte Criner and Hattie Frances Keys. In addition to her husband, Jimmie is also predeceased her niece and nephew, Jill Livingston and Clyde Criner, Jr. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Friday, April 29th at 10 a. m. in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn. Interment in Graceland Cemetery, Albany, New York, on Wednesday, May 4th at 1:00 p.m. Remembrances in Jimmie’s name may be made to St. Barbara’s Parish, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, MA 01801 or Winchester Hospital, 611 Main Street, Winchester, MA 01890.

OBITUARY

JIMMIE K. (KEYS) SMITH passed away at the Winchester Hospital, Wednesday evening, April 26th. The beloved wife of the late William W. “Smitty” Smith, she was eighty three years of age.

Born in Alabama she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Dora (Butler) Keys. After moving to Albany, Jimmie graduated from High School there with the class of 1950. Following High School, Jimmie then secured a position at Raytheon, where she remained for 37 years.

Jimmie had met the love of her life “Smitty” Smith. They moved to Woburn in 1971, where they have made their home. Married for a little over fifty years, they always enjoyed travelling! Cruises to the Caribbean were the all time favorite and they also had a timeshares where they vacationed in Spain and Portugal.

Always well read, Jimmie kept up wilh current events, sharing her views. She also had a great sense of humor always laughing and enjoying friends, particularly her son and his friends, along with her special relationship with her granddaughter Desiree. Jimmie always enjoyed being an avid NE Patriots fan as well as a Brooklyn Dodgers fan (now LA!)

Sadly Jimmie was predeceased by her parents, husband William W. “Smitty” Smith, sisters, Charlotte Criner and Hattie Frances Keys, niece, Jill Livingston and nephew, Clyde Criner, Jr.

She is lovingly survived by her son, William “Billy” Smith Jr. of Woburn, her granddaughter, Desiree Smith, sister of Ann Bueford of Albany, Alice Keys of New York City, Helen Livingston and her husband Callie of Albany, and Leslie Keys and his wife Donna of Virginia.
