OBITUARY:

John F. Salemme passed away at Winchester Hospital Sunday, April 23rd after a brief illness. The beloved husband of Ruthann (Taylor) Salemme he was sixty three years of age.

Born in Winchester he was the son of the late Louis F. and Marjorie (Pickett) Salemme. Raised and educated in Somerville school system. Following high school John continued in his interest of cars and motorcycles. John became very interested in Hazard Waste Materials and the disposal of them. After much research John had developed his own company, Autobody Solvent Recovery. He became an expert in this field and had assisted in the hazardous waste removal for several decades.

Little did he know that one of his little friends in the neighborhood that he played with would in 1971 become his wife! He and Ruthann were childhood chums and after high school became sweethearts! They married in August of 1971 and brought two wonderful children into the world. John truly enjoyed life from the serenity of the New Hampshire Mountains to the car and motorcycle races. He and his family loved to travel. Fishing on a lake nestled away in a little cabin to a month long cruise out of Boston,Hawaii, Disney, cruises to different islands to the foothills in Arizona, he loved it all. Being with his wife and family was always the best part of anything and everything he did. A very hard working, charismatic, funny man John’s boundaries were endless and anything al all he could do for family and friends, consider it done.

John was one of the founders of Mass Autobody Assoc., and had also served on the Board of Directors of the Woburn Rod and Gun Club.

Sadly John was predeceased by his parents Louis and Marjorie.

John was the devoted husband of Ruthann (Taylor) Salemme, their children John L. Salemme, his wife Cindy of N. Billerica and Corinne L. Bishop and her husband Richard of Woburn.

Dear brother of Joseph, Michael, Daniel, and Edward Dunne, Margaret Bears and Susanne Foley. Loving Papa of Zachary and John Paul Caplis, Julie Ann and Sophia Marie Bishop and Claire Ruth Salemme along with a soon to be great grandchild.
