OBITUARY:

A lifelong resident of Woburn, Winifred “Winnie” (O’Donnell) Bosak was born in the home that her grandfather built after emigrating here from Ireland. The beloved daughter of the late George L. and Catherine A. (McNulty) O’Donnell was ninety eight years old. The oldest of eleven children “Winnie” graduated from St. Charles High School. Following high school Winnie served as a proud member of the Patriotic Seven Star Families. This organization was representative of the number of sons that were serving during World War II. Winnie contributed to the war effort by working in the Watertown Arsenal known as a “WOW” girl, supporting the troops. After the war she worked at Legendary W.W. Winship Trunk Company in Boston, makers of fine luggage and travel trunks.

Shortly after World War II Winnie met her husband Stan at a Polish Dance. Throughout their marriage they always enjoyed fishing. As a child she loved to fish at Horn Pond and when the opportunity was available to fish somewhere else, she was present and accounted for!

Winnie actually had her last her last fishing expedition at Horn Pond, just four years ago at the age of 94.

Winnie and her husband loved to travel taking many trips around the United States and to Ireland

One of her favorite trips was to Seattle to see her brother Joe and his family.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church Ladies along with her sisters and mother, often hosting Wisk Tournaments for the Church.

Winnie’s greatest love throughout her lifetime was always family . Her husband, siblings, nieces and nephews, great and grand, always enjoyed the warmth and love of all sharing in each holiday, birthday or just an afternoon in the back yard. She loved her family.

Sadly Winnie was predeceased by her husband, Stanley W. Bosak, along with all her sisters and brothers, George, James, Joseph, John, Thomas, Francis, Laurence, Hugh O’Donnell, Catherine A. McHugh and Ellen O’Donnell. Also survived by her sister-in-law Alberta O’Donnell of Melrose, and many, many loving nieces and nephews, great and grand.
