OBITUARY:

Theresa M. (Nixon) Queen passed away at her home, Monday April 4th with her beloved family at her side. The wife of James K. Queen, Theresa was eighty six years of age.

Born in Winchester, Theresa was the daughter of the late Warren and Martha (Delorey) Nixon. One of six children, she was raised and educated in Winchester. Following high school Theresa met Jim Queen, to whom she has been devoted to since 1948. After they married they made their home in North Woburn for a brief time, returning to Winchester for the next decade and then back to Woburn since 1966, where they have remained.

Having six children kept Theresa very busy! Summers it was time for trips to Revere Beach, Salisbury Beach, or any of the beaches in Gloucester. Theresa loved the ocean, the sand and it was a place where she and the children really enjoyed themselves.

As they grew and began to have children of their own Theresa was the consummate, “Nana.” Her loving nature, patient ways and always present to whatever their needs were. “Nana” shared a wonderful relationship with each of her thirteen grandchildren. Now, in addition to her beautiful grandchildren, she was the very proud great-grandmother of eleven! Loving every minute.

Theresa, throughout her life had been a very devoted and dedicated daughter, wife, mother and nana. All the love she shared with her family was unconditional and always present.

Theresa was sadly predeceased by her parents, Warren and Martha(Delorey) Nixon as well as her siblings Margaret Barrow, Ruth Garvey, and Fred Nixon.

Theresa is lovingly survived by her husband James K. Queen; her children John Queen of Woburn, George Queen of Florida, Deborah Adamitz of Woburn, Janice Morse and her husband Wayne of Florida, Warren Queen and his wife Liz of Florida and Mark Queen and his wife Sheryl of Woburn; her sisters Sue Elliot and her husband George of NH and Pauline Cook and her husband Gary of Florida. She is the treasured “Nana” of thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Theresa is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a loving extended family.
