OBITUARY:
Patricia A. Pat (Quigley) Ruble passed away on Saturday, March 15th at Woburn Nursing Center. The beloved wife of the late William R. Ruble, she was eighty-two years of age.
Born in Stoneham to the late Patrick J. and Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Quigley, she was one of seven children. Pat, as she was affectionately known, was raised in Malden and attended Girls Catholic High School, graduating with the Class of 1950. Following high school, she began working at an investment company where she remained for a few years.
While working, Pat became friends with a lovely girl who would eventually become her sister-in-law. Through her friend, she met the love of her life, William Ruble, at a family wedding. The two married in June of 1955 and brought five wonderful children into the world. They moved to Woburn and nestled onto Hamilton Road where they made their home.
Pat was completely devoted to her family and was a loving and caring mother. She was very involved in helping out at Malden Catholic while her sons attended school there. As a family they enjoyed vacations at Crystal Lake in Maine as well as Hampton Beach, where they enjoyed soaking up the sun and taking in the sights. As the family grew, Pat was more than happy to take on the role of Nana. She enjoyed crocheting blankets, booties, and anything else she could for her growing family.
A person of great faith and kindness, Pat enjoyed spending her time volunteering. She was active at the Choate here in Woburn and when it closed, she helped out at Boston Regional in Stoneham. Always willing to lend a hand where needed, Pat was more than happy to do whatever she could. When the children were grown, Pat went back to work as a secretary for the Woburn School Department as a floating secretary for the schools. An active woman, she enjoyed bowling as well as travelling, her favorite place to go being Ireland. She still had family there that she kept in touch with and over the years she made several trips back to her familys homeland.
In 1993, Pat made the move from Woburn to Billerica to live with her daughter and be closer to her family. Then in 2007 she moved back to Woburn to the Woburn Nursing Center, where she has remained. During her time there she made many friends and was still as active as ever. She received wonderful care and attention.
A loving, caring, and truly giving person, Pat will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her husband, William R. Ruble, she was predeceased by her siblings, John Quigley, Christopher Quigley, Robert Quigley, Mary Quigley, and Jane Connolly.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Thomas P. Ruble and his wife Marah of Ashburnham, Paul F. Ruble and his wife Sandra of Middleton, Diane M. DAlessandro and her husband Frank of Billerica, William E. Ruble of Ashburnham, and John J. Ruble and his wife Lisa of Westford; her sister, Elizabeth Blais of Saugus; her sisters-in-law, Marjorie Quigley of Wakefield and Rita Quigley of Lowell; her grandchildren, Daniel, Patrick, Colin, Jason, Olivia, Christopher, Emma, Courtney, Michael, and Claudia; and her great-grandchildren, Paige Ivy and Charles Thomas.
