OBITUARY:
Rita C. (Lennon) Lloyd passed away at her home amongst her dear family on Friday, April 26th. The beloved wife of the late Keith S. Lloyd, she was ninety two years of age.
Born in Newton, she was one of two daughters, out of nine children born to the late John and Margaret (Landry) Lennon. Raised and educated in Newton, she was a graduate of Newton North High School. After high school she began working at Raytheon which was a position she held until her marriage to Keith S. Lloyd. Bringing seven children into the world, she was always busy. She had learned as a child how to sew and this wonderful talent she carried throughout her life. Mrs. Lloyd had made all of her children’s clothing as they grew and was quick to do repairs, lengthen or shorten the hems and sew on the proverbial button in a moment’s notice.
After the children were grown Mrs. Lloyd volunteered her secretarial skills at St. Charles Church, in the early eighties. She then became a Eucharistic Minister, where she remained for over the next twenty years. Her participation in the Church was something she loved doing. A woman of tremendous faith, she helped out at the Parish in any way she possibly could.
Throughout the years she and her dear sister “Fifi” remained inseparable. They did everything together and she was often considered the “third parent “ in the household.
A very loving and giving woman her family was her world. “Nina” as she was affectionately known by her dear grandchildren, loved spending time with all of them throughout the years. Her family and her faith surrounded her throughout her lifetime and had made her life complete.
Mrs. Lloyd was predeceased by her husband, Keith S. Lloyd, her sons, Kenneth and Dana Lloyd, her daughter, Patti Nowlan, and her siblings, Mildred, Joseph, Theodore, Daniel, Rudolph, John, Robert, Henry, and Paul.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Sheila DiPanfilo of FL, Keith Lloyd and his wife Michele of Tewksbury, Kimberly Lloyd of Woburn, Scott Lloyd and his wife Pam of AZ, her sister and best friend of Phyllis “Fifi” Lennon of Woburn, son-in-law, Jim DiPanfilo of Woburn, 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Wednesday, May 1st at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Calling hours on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
Sorry for your loss.
I will remember Nina as a thoughtful Grandmother.
No problem in speaking her mind.
Closeness her and Fifi had as
sisters.
Always kept busy enjoying life.
