OBITUARY:
Edna C (Carlson) Anderson passed away Monday March 14th after a lingering illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Anderson.
Mrs. Anderson was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. After high school she went on to business school for two years. She had remained in Somerville till her marriage to the love of her life, “Frank” Anderson. They made their residence in the West Side where they remained for over fifty-four years.
When her children began school, Mrs. Anderson worked part time at Jordan Marsh for several years. She was a particularly social woman who enjoyed her home, church and family. She was very dedicated to her faith and her church. Actively involved in the First Baptist Church in Woburn, she served as secretary for a good number of years, belonged to many of the women’s groups at the church and served as a teacher for the Vacation Bible School over the years.
In the late eighties, she traveled to Sweden, the homeland of her parents, a country and culture of which she was so proud, and later she visited Alaska. Her baking skills were superb, often baking Swedish delights, cakes and cookies.
In addition to her husband Francis “Frank,” who died in 1983, she was predeceased by her parents and sister, Signe Nelson.
Mrs Anderson is lovingly survived by her two children, Carol Arthur of Woburn and Charles Anderson of Florida, her grandchildren Angel Christina Arthur of Natick and Robin Lynn Arthur of Woburn and great-grandchildren, Javaree Hedley and Kayvon Fulton. She also leaves her godson, Donald Christianson of New Hampshire.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Memorial Service in the First Baptist Church, 3 Winn Street, Woburn, on Saturday, March 26th at 11:00 a.m. Interment is private.
