CHRISTINE M. “CHRISSY” (ROSS) WHITE – a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away suddenly on September 23rd at the age of 73. Chrissy’s tremendous love for her family and friends was at the heart of everything she did.

Born and raised in Everett, Chrissy was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Rita Elizabeth (Weddleton) Ross and a graduate of Everett High School.

Chrissy had a special gift for making others feel loved, often through the quiet, “unsung” acts of kindness and generosity that came so naturally to her. She was always creating something for someone —sewing Halloween costumes, inventing games and prizes for family gatherings – from Monster Golf at Easter to Family Feud at the cottage – creating beautiful floral arrangements for showers and other celebrations. She even made her own wedding gown. Chrissy never wanted to be the focus or center of attention. What mattered most to her was seeing everyone else having fun, laughing, and enjoying time together.

Her quick wit and sense of humor were treasured by all who knew her. She could make everyone laugh, both during the happiest moments and even in the most difficult ones. She was an incredibly kind, generous, and fiercely loyal woman, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel welcomed and loved.

At the center of Chrissy’s life was her husband and best friend of 44 years, Frank. Where you found one, you could usually find the other. They loved going out to eat, visiting the casino, shopping, spending time at the cottage, hosting holidays, and, most importantly, being wherever their children and grandchildren were. For many years, Chrissy was right beside Frank during his involvement with Woburn Youth Hockey, including running Monday Night Bingo together at the Boys & Girls Club.

Family was everything to Chrissy. She rarely missed a game, celebration, birthday, holiday, or an important moment. With her six siblings and six children, the plate was always full yet Chrissy always was there – smiling (and crying happy tears at the same time.)  When Chrissy met Frank, he was a widower with four children. She did not hesitate to embrace those children as her own and made sure they were seamlessly and lovingly part of everything. She never made a distinction between “hers” and “his”—they were simply her family.

Chrissy also took great pride in her career. Throughout her working years, she held a variety of management roles, from retail management to medical billing operations. Wherever she worked, she brought the same warmth, humor, loyalty, and generosity that defined her in every other part of her life. She treasured the friendships she made throughout her career, many of which continued long after the workday ended.

Chrissy’s ability to make people feel loved was one of her greatest gifts. Her laughter, humor, generosity, loyalty, and countless thoughtful gestures will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Chrissy is survived by her children, Mary Jennings and her husband Richard of Wakefield, Maureen Leone and her husband Michael of Wakefield, Brian White and his wife Joanne of West Henrietta, NY, Mark White and his wife Jamie of Barrington, RI, and Matthew White and his wife Samantha of Woburn. She was predeceased by her son, Francis A. White III, and is lovingly survived by her daughter-in-law, Julie White of Osterville.

She was the cherished grandmother of Garrett White and his wife Mary, Brendan White, Andrew, Elizabeth, Matthew, and Christopher Jennings, Andrew and Kyle Leone, Keegan White and his wife Kaitlyn, Madison White, Emily and Camryn White, and Sophie and Abigail White. She was the proud great-grandmother of Frankie White.

Chrissy was the dear sister of Paul Ross and his wife Kathleen of Danvers, Kathy Baldacchino and her husband Joe of Everett, Dolores “Dokey” Brogan and her husband Steve of Medford, Arthur “Artie” Ross and his wife Susan of Saugus, and the late Daniel Ross, survived by his wife Joan of Reading. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Along with her beloved husband, the late Frank A. White Jr., Chrissy leaves behind a family whose lives were made richer by her love and devotion. Her greatest legacy will not be the things she made, the games she created, or the celebrations she planned, but the love she gave so freely and the memories she created for the people she loved most.

Her Funeral Mass will take place Friday, October 2nd at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church, Woburn. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, October 1st from 4–7 p.m. Remembrances may be made in Christine’s memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
