Carol F. (Swanson) Roselli, of Woburn, died peacefully on September 22nd, at the age of 90, leaving behind a life defined by family, friendship, faith, and a genuine love for the people around her.
Born in Watertown, Carol was the daughter of the late Ernest and Kathleen (Rose) Swanson. She graduated from Matignon High School and continued her education at the Catherine Gibbs School, where she studied secretarial work. Carol went on to spend 22 years working as a secretary for FEMA, a career she approached with the same intelligence, attention to detail, and dedication she brought to so many parts of her life. She also worked with Catholic Family Counseling.
At the center of Carol’s life was her husband, Robert, with whom she shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their three children. Through all the seasons of life, Carol’s greatest happiness came from her family, and becoming a grandmother brought her immeasurable joy. She loved watching her grandchildren grow and was always interested in what they were doing. To Carol, there was simply no such thing as too much time spent with them.
Carol had a warm and outgoing personality and truly possessed the “gift of gab.” She could strike up a conversation just about anywhere and had a wonderful ability to make friends wherever she went. She enjoyed shopping, playing the piano, going out for coffee or ice cream, and, as a lifelong lover of proper grammar and the English language, she was always ready with a gentle correction. An excellent proofreader, very little escaped Carol’s careful eye.
For 22 years, Carol and Robert enjoyed spending their winters in Bonita Springs, Florida, where they made wonderful memories and lasting friendships. Whether at home in Woburn, away in Florida, or simply out for the day, Carol enjoyed being around people and making the most of life’s everyday moments.
During the last four years of her life, Carol was lovingly cared for at Aviva Country Club Heights. Her family is especially grateful to the dedicated staff who cared for Carol with such kindness, compassion, and dignity, as well as to the hospice team who provided comfort and support during her final days. Their care and kindness will always be deeply appreciated by Carol’s family.
Carol will be remembered most for the love she gave so freely. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a loyal friend, and someone whose warmth made people feel comfortable in her company. Her family was her greatest source of pride, and the many years and memories they shared will remain a treasured part of her legacy.
Along with her beloved husband of 66 years, Robert M. Roselli, Carol is lovingly survived by her children, Joanne Henningsen, and her late husband Joseph, of North Andover, Paul Roselli, his wife Michelle, of Woburn, and Robert Roselli, his wife Maureen, of Marlborough. Dear sister of William Swanson of VA, and the late Rosalie Belton, Evelyn Hanley, John Swanson, and Stephen Swanson. Cherished grandmother of Connor, Garrett, Meghan, Julia, Christopher, Shannon, and William. Carol is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, September 30th from 4–7 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will take place Thursday, October 1st at 10 a.m. in St. Barbara Church, Woburn. Burial to follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Bob,
Sorry to hear the news.
Carol was a lovely woman. A fine neighbor. A smiling face to everyone who met her.
God Bless her.
Peace be with you and your family.
Carol and I have been neighbors for nearly a half century and were always friendly with each other. But I really got to know her while riding the #350 bus home every weekday afternoon. She offered valuable advice, laughter and warmth. Carol was one of the bright spots of taking the MBTA bus. Rest in peace, Carol.
My family and I lived next to the Rosellis for many years. They were such great neighbors and friends to the whole neighborhood. My deepest sympathies to Bob and the family—you’re all in my heart and thoughts during this difficult time.
We’re deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Carol was a wonderful lady and a great neighbor. We moved next door to Carol and Bob 29 years ago. They welcomed us to a well established neighborhood with open arms. I can’t imagine ever having better neighbors. We still miss Carol playing the piano in the afternoons.
