A proud lifelong Woburnite, Bucky grew up with his parents and brother, Bill, in North Woburn. He graduated from Woburn Memorial High School and proudly served his country as a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War. After his military service, Bucky returned to Massachusetts and studied Drafting. His chosen career in drafting and engineering was a great fit for his innate work ethic and love of a challenge. Most notably, during his tenure at Itek, he was a member of the engineering team that designed the camera for the U-2 spy plane and which was later on Apollo 15, 16, and 17.
Bucky lived a long and full life. To know him was to know his energy, enthusiasm, loyalty, and love of life. He celebrated over 50 years of sobriety and was active in his local Alcoholics Anonymous group, often speaking and sharing his experiences. He was dedicated to sharing his story to help others, especially younger people. He loved to dance, and he and his wife, Kathy, were often among the first on the dance floor at any event. Bucky also loved to sing and was a tenor in the St. Joseph Parish of Malden choir. Above all, he treasured the family and friends who surrounded him throughout his 95 years. Bucky will be greatly missed by his extended family and many dear friends, all of whom were blessed to have had him in their lives.

It was a pleasure getting to know your father through my father at St. Joseph’s choir. Our two dad’s shared a love of music and woodworking. My dad Bill made a picture frame for your dad which he seemed quite proud to show off along with all the other family pictures that lined his walls and throughout his apartment. He was a kindred spirit for sure.
Thank you for being so good to my friend Kerry when she needed you too.

Pam and Family, my sincere condolences on the loss of your stepfather/father. He can now be with your beloved mother. At 95, he had a very full life. May he rest in peace.
To the Veno family; my condolences on the passing of “Bucky.” I remember him well from St. Anthony church and as a regular at Wednesday morning gatherings at Dunkin. He always added his sense of humor as he joined the group and then darted off on a road trip with his truck. Blessings to his survivors.
