ALLEN R. GELINAS – of Woburn, died peacefully, June 15th at the age of eighty. He was the beloved husband of nearly fifty-eight years to Sandra J. (Markiewicz) Gelinas. Cherished father of Michael Gelinas and Suzanne Gelinas, her companion Paul Taraszuk, all of North Andover. Treasured grandfather of Matthew, Zachary, Kyle and Cole. Beloved brother of Priscilla Brugman, her late husband Robert and brother-in-law of Frank Markiewicz, his wife Stephanie of Weare, NH. Adored uncle of Josh and Sarah Brugman. Also survived by his lifelong friends Al and Richard Scheri, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Funeral will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Tuesday, June 25th, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to pay their respects on Monday, June 24th from 5 – 7 p.m in the Funeral Home. Interment is private. Remembrances may be made in Allen’s honor to a charity of one’s choice.

ALLEN R. GELINAS – of Woburn, died peacefully, June 15th at the age of eighty. He was the beloved husband of nearly fifty-eight years to Sandra J. (Markiewicz) Gelinas. 
 
Born in Haverhill, Allen was a son of the late Henry L. Gelinas. He was raised in Wakefield and a graduate of Wakefield High School. In 1962, Allen enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, until being honorable discharged.
 
Allen was a very active man throughout his life and enjoyed tending to his yard. He was a lover of animals and enjoyed spending time bird watching. Visiting Lake Winnipesauke in the summers and spending time with his grandchildren were some of his favorite memories. 
 
Allen will de sadly missed but never forgotten.
 
Along with his wife Sandra, Allen is survived by his children, Michael Gelinas and Suzanne Gelinas, her companion Paul Taraszuk, all of North Andover. Treasured grandfather of Matthew, Zachary, Kyle, and Cole. Beloved brother of Priscilla Brugman, her late husband Robert and brother-in-law of Frank Markiewicz, his wife Stephanie of Weare, NH.     I was saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Gelinas. My condolences to the family.

  2. “He who is a friend is always a friend, and a brother is born for the time of stress.” This is what Al was to me. He was special and one of a kind. His Compassion for people and life was the highest I’ve ever seen in anyone. It is an honor to have known him and I will miss him dearly.

  3. I’m so sorry to hear of Al’s passing. AL was a kind spirit and will be missed greatly by all that had the pleasure to know him.
