DAVID C. FRENCH – of Woburn, died peacefully, June 14th, of eighty years of age. Beloved husband of 56 years to Dianne F. (Tamilio) French. Devoted father of Brenda Ash of NH, Carol Barbarossa, her husband Louis of Billerica, and Claire Walthall of Woburn. Dear brother of Mark French of Medford, and the late John and Paul French. Cherished grandfather Lukas, David, Jacob and Cheyanne. David is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A Funeral will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday, June 2oth, at 11. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to pay their respects PRIOR to the service from 9:30-11 a.m. Interment is private. DAVID C. FRENCH – of Woburn, died peacefully, June 14th, of eighty years of age. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Dianne F. (Tamilio) French.

Born in Roxbury, and raised in Danvers, David was a son of the late Mark and Elsa (Sessler) French. He was a graduate of Holten High School. After high school, David enlisted in the US Army the Division of the 82nd Airborne and Military Police, and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War.

Beyond his military service, David was a loving and caring husband and best friend to Dianne. Their bond was one of deep love, understanding, commitment and a partnership built on trust and mutual respect.

For many years, David was a transportation dispatcher for Hemingway, BASF and United Stationers. He was a Coach for 16 years for Woburn Little League Baseball and later in life a Crossing Guard for the Goodyear Elementary School.

David was Awarded a Commendation from President of the United States Gerald R. Ford,  for saving a youth from drowning and was Honored and Appreciated by Woburns Special Education Parent Advisory Council.

After retirement, David found his true passion in golf. He was a talented player with a strong swing.

He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

In addition to his wife Dianne, David is survived by his children, Brenda Ash of NH, Carol Barbarossa, her husband Louis of Billerica, and Claire Walthall of Woburn. Dear brother of Mark French of Medford, and the late John and Paul French. Cherished grandfather Lukas, David, Jacob and Cheyanne. David is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

    Dave was one in a million friends. We golfed together on Saturdays and Wednesdays he would always offer advice or his praise on others play. He was a joy to golf with and we will miss him.
    God speed Dave enjoy your rounds in heaven with all those who have gone before us.
