James N. Britt – of Methuen, passed away May 14th, with his family by his side at the age of fifty-seven.

Jimmy grew up in North Woburn in a close-knit family neighborhood full of kids, The highlight of his day was coming home from school just to go back out and play in the neighborhood, taking a quick break for dinner and right back to play until the streetlights came on. Whether it was riding bikes in a pack of 8-20 kids, playing kickball, basketball, or tag, it was what Jimmy loved most. He excelled at soccer and took great pride when his team took home the championship two years in a row.  As a teenager Jim loved riding his bike with his “crew” to the movie theater – he loved the movies so much it wasn’t uncommon for him to see the same one multiple times.

He graduated from Woburn High in 1986 and went to work for Heilind Electronics for over 10 years. In his 20’s he helped his cousin build his cabin in Vermont then spent almost every weekend there with his brother Scott, cousins Donald and Paul and a group of close friends. When not in Vermont, they spent their weekends at Hampton Beach or going to concerts.

At 32, Jimmy met the love of his life and best friend Lisa Whitaker. A couple years later they were blessed with a son, David. Jimmy loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, fixing cars and watching sports on TV. Jimmy was a man with a big heart who loved helping others. He will be deeply missed.

Along with his parents, Howard and Donna (Lee) Britt of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Jimmy is survived by his fiancé Lisa Whitaker and his cherished son, David A. Britt of Methuen. Loving brother of Sharon (Britt) Vienneau, her husband Scott of Woburn and his late brother Scott Britt. Dear son-in-law of Elizabeth Whitaker, her late husband David and brother-in-law of Andrea Surette, her husband Robert. James is also lovingly survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
