DONNA (BARRY) GIANNELLI – of Milford, NH, died peacefully, with her family by her side, March 25th, at fifty-seven years of age.

Born in Winchester and raised in Woburn, Donna was a daughter of the late John M. and Marie (Babin)(Surette) Barry. She was a graduate of Woburn High School, class of 1984.

Donna’s greatest joy and accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother.

She took so much pride in supporting and watching them in their accomplishments, never missing an important event. She was the quintessential Mom and “Auntie Dodo” to everyone, who always had snacks and homemade chocolate chips walnut cookies, that could make anyone feel better. All of this was a testament to the depth of her love and dedication to her family.

Donna was an avid gardener with a green thumb. She was also a lover of music, especially Elvis.

Donna’s world shined brighter the day her daughters gave birth. Being a grandma was so special to he and she looked forward to spending mornings with Oliver and traveling up north to visit George. Her last days were spent with baby Gus by her side. Even through sickness, Donna was grateful for each and every day of her life, and never gave up. Her legacy will live through her children and grandchildren, and she forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her and will be greatly missed.

  7. Catherine Nelson

Donna was nicknamed “Pumpkin” by Auntie Gert. She was confused by the same names her sister Kathy and I her cousin Cathy had, so she used to call me “Caffy Elson”.
Donna’s courage and determination to beat her first bout with pancreatic cancer seven years ago astounded me and I admired her for that a great deal.
About two years ago I was talking with her about her five-year survival. She said she thanks God every day she wakes up. And in her seven years, she had the joy of her grandchildren. I hope you will see your loved-ones who have gone before you Donna.
