BERYL M. (HODGES) NELSON – of Woburn, formerly of Erie, PA, died peacefully, October 31st, after a brief illness, with her family by her side, at the age of eighty-five.  She was the beloved wife of 53 years to the late Robert B. Nelson.

Born and raised in Erie, PA, Beryl was a daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Pogue) Hodges. She was a graduate of East High School.

Beryl and Bob got married on April 12, 1958 and raised their seven children in Woburn, to whom they were devoted. Beryl was the most kind, generous and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother who gave herself to others.

After her children were grown, Beryl went back to work, as a bookkeeper for many years at Jordan Marsh.

Beryl was a professional bargain shopper, a lover of flowers, an avid reader and expert solver of crossword puzzles. Her laughter was contagious, and her sense of humor brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Devoted mother of Christine Bockoven, her husband Peter of AZ, Jean Mac Leod, her husband Scott of Woburn, Cynthia and her late husband, Edrick Smith, of Woburn, Cheryl and her late husband, David Christiansen of Pepperell, Melissa Bourassa, her husband Timothy of Windham, NH, Robert Nelson, Jr. of Erie, PA and Scott Nelson, of Windham, NH. 1. Chris, Jean, Missy and all of the Nelson Family. I’m sorry to hear of the passing of your dear mother. I remember her kindness from back in the day and enjoyed chatting with her and Scott later on at Building 19. She was a lovely woman and what a fantastic legacy she leaves with so many beautiful children, grandchildren and great grandchildren!! I hope you all can find peace and solace knowing she is now with Bob and together they are looking over all of the family from above with loads of love and pride. My sincerest condolences. B.L.
