Brian Austin Winn, a lifelong resident of Woburn,  passed away at the Lahey Clinic, Saturday, September 2nd, 2023.  The beloved son of the late Robert and Jeanne (Garvey) Winn, he was sixty-seven years of age.

Brian was one of eight children born into the Robert M. Winn Family, who made their home in the South End of Woburn for many, many years.  Raised and educated in Woburn, Brian was a graduate of Woburn High School, along with the Class of 1974.

The family began summering in Seabrook, NH, when the children were all quite young .  It has over the years become the “summer hub” for all family and friends! Brian enjoyed many of the festivities, all throughout the years with his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all  right there by the Atlantic!  He loved it!!

Throughout high school, and well into adulthood, Brian was employed in the family trucking business, Winn’s Express.  It was there he learned everything he needed to know about the trucking business. Brian had worked as a driver for many of those years and later became in charge of the docks on the shipping and receiving end of the business.

Over the years Brian had his daily routine, where he would often be seen uptown getting his coffee, speaking to all those whom he saw along the way.  While enjoying holidays and all sorts of celebrations with the family, his nieces and nephews had affectionately bestowed the nick name of “Dubs” upon him, of which he was proud!

Sadly, over the last several years, Brian had been affected with several illnesses, which affected his physical strength, along with his daily activities.  Saturday, he was stricken at home and passed away at the Lahey Clinic a short time later.

Brian over many years had been a member of the Moose Family Lodge.

In addition to his Mom and Dad, Brian was predeceased by his sister, Jacqueline “Jackie” Mahoney, and Robert “Bob” Winn along with Brian’s  brother in laws, Paul Fitzpatrick, Don Robinson and Brian Doherty.

Brian is lovingly survived by his sisters, Deborah Winn Robinson, Marcia Libbey, her husband George, Jeannie Fitzpatrick, Allison Ray, her husband Jody, Michelle Doherty, all of Woburn, and his dear brother in law Jack Mahoney of Wakefield. Also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wed., September 13th, at 11:15 a.m. in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn. Some years ago, Bubba, Pudgy, Jackie and Brian helped me acquire my class 1 license. As if that wasn’t enough, they also offered me a job at Winn’s Express. They’re all in heaven now, but I’ll never forget the kindness they showed me. Brian was well loved by his entire family. God Bless.

Sorry for your loss of Brian, but happy for him as he is getting a well-deserved rest. Life was not easy these past few years for Brian, but he was so blessed to have had such a supportive loving family always there for him, helping him in every way possible.
