Jean “Rusti” Carton – Dellucci – a lifelong resident of Woburn, died peacefully, March 10th with her family by her side at the age of eighty-one. She was the beloved wife of Daniel M. Dellucci.

Born and raised in Woburn, Rusti was a daughter of the late John and Julia (Barnes) Carton. She attended St. Charles Schools. She earned her nursing license from Somerville Hospital and dedicated her time and care to serving patients in need. She later became a Registered Nurse which required more dedication and time studying which she did without complaint.

She returned to school and earned her master’s degree in Education which enabled her to do something else in life she loved; teach. She taught at two local colleges throughout the years.

Rusti loved to spend time with her grandchildren and family whom she loved more than anything. She also loved animals, which would include all the cats and dogs she has had over the years. She enjoyed going on vacations and always had a good time! She was a very talented painter and enjoyed doing various arts and craft activities.

Rusti was an extremely kind and generous lady who would try to help anyone in need. She had a strong work ethic and once she set her mind on something, she accomplished it. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed!

In addition to her husband, Rusti is survived by her children, Julie Golles, her husband John, Jeannine McDonough, and John “Jay” McDonough, all of Woburn. Treasured grandmother of Brittany and Matthew McDonough, LCpl John-Henry Lafont, Owen and Spencer Lafont, John William Golles and Dylan and Erica Malho. Dear sister the late Jack Carton. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, March 14th from 4-7 p.m., in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main St., Woburn. Her burial will take place privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations, may be made in Rusti’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452

Jean was always a person or knowledge. She loved to debate topics, specifically in science and medicine. She cared about everything and everyone she touched. She was a bright light whenever times got dark. When my grandfather, her father in law, was recovering from open heart surgery, she was asked by a doctor to leave the room. Why? Her presence was enough to cause my papa while unconscious to get so excited by her presence the doctors felt it was too much for his healing heart. Well, she did this to everyone. Such a force of life and such a beautiful human being. I’ll always miss you and will always tell stories about you auntie Jean! Love you forever! See you when I get there ❤️
