Jeanne M. (Furey) White – a longtime resident of Woburn, died peacefully, January 1st, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife and best friend of 48 years to Bo White.

Born in Medford, Jeanne was a daughter of the late William and Anne (Davis) Furey. She was educated in North Reading and a graduate of North Reading High School. She later earned her associate degree from Middlesex Community College while working full time and maintaining her 4 childrens busy lives.

In 1974, she met Bo and they quickly fell in love, meeting in January, a first date in February, a diamond in June and married September 1st.  Bo was the love of her life.  They started their life together in Woburn and raised their four beautiful children. Jeanne greatest treasure in life was her family. Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, always giving beyond 100% to help those she cared for.

For many years, Jeanne was the backbone of the Linscott Rumford School, maintaining the office and being a confidant to many students, teachers and parents.  Jeanne arrived at the Linscott with only seconds to spare before the bell, with a hot cup of coffee, dressed to the 9’s to help guide the young children of the Linscott with quick wit, a big smile or if needed, a stern stare.  She knew every student by name and always made them feel like they were the most important child in the school.

Most warm nights you’d find Jeanne sitting on the back deck reading the newspaper or a book, talking to an old friend or cousin on the phone.  Mom was a devoted friend to many, always keeping in touch and checking in on friends from all stages of her life.  Jeanne enjoyed sitting on the beach long after everyone went home, chatting and enjoying a laugh. Jeanne loved to take a drive in her convertible to enjoy a mocha, pop into visit relatives and friends or Marshalls.

Her strong Catholic faith was a huge part of her life.  Her Sunday ritual was sleeping in, 11 o’clock Mass, a trip up to Lucci’s and popping into a local store for an outfit refresh for the next week.

In addition to her husband Bo, Jeanne is survived and will be deeply missed by Eric White, his wife Aubrie of Denver, CO, Shaun White, his wife Katie of IN, Brianne Plant, her husband Chris of Woburn and Ryan White of Chicago, IL. Adored grandmother of Beckett, Keegan, Karsen, Burke, Nash, Christian, and Liam. Dear sister of William Furey, his wife Maryellen of Greenfield, Paul Furey, his wife Tanya of Marblehead, Patty Paige, her husband Jim of SC, Maryellen Stokarski, her husband Gary of Deerfield and Jim Furey, his wife Lisa of Denver, CO. Also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 6 at 11:30 a.m., in St. Anthony Church, 857 Main Street, Woburn.  Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Jamie’s Joy 4 Bennett Street, Woburn MA 01801. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main St., Woburn, MA.
