Howard A. “Zach” Zacchini – of Woburn, died peacefully, December 31st at the age of ninety-seven. Beloved husband of the late Lorraine M. (Guilfoyle) Zacchini. Devoted father of David A. Zacchini, his wife Linda of Billerica, Daniel A. Zacchini of Woburn and Nancy L. Zacchini of Lexington. Dear brother of Pamela Garza, her husband Edward of FL and the late Richard D. Zacchine. Loving grandfather of Maria Fossiano, her husband Tyler, Jacquelyn Zacchini, her significant other Kyle Small, and Kristina McCarthy, her husband Joseph. Treasured great-grandfather of John D. Martin. Also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, January 9th at 10 a.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Calling hours, in the Funeral Home PRIOR to Mass from 8:30-9:45 a.m. Remembrances may be made to honor of Zach to the Disabled American Veterans.

Howard A. “Zach” Zacchini – a longtime resident of Woburn, died peacefully, December 31st at the age of ninety-seven. He was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine M. (Guilfoyle) Zacchini.

Born and raised in Quincy, Zach was a son of the late Aldo and Signe (Mattson) Zacchini. He was a graduate of Quincy high school. In 1943, Zach enlisted in the US Marine Corps, where he served honorably during WWII until being discharged in 1946.

Following his service, he returned home and worked various jobs until securing a position as an Electrical Tech for Raytheon. He remained there for 32 years until his retirement in 1991.

Zach was a life member of the American Legion, Woburn, Sixth Marine Division Association, and the IBEW. In his younger years he was an avid fisherman. After retirement he enjoyed going to the horse races with his wife and watching his favorite sports teams. He will be sadly missed.

  1. This Soldier is now resting in peace, knowing he was well cared for by his children especially his son Danny who worked alongside a bunch of us senior citizens, and veterans. To us Dan was a hero because his dad always came first. So sorry for your loss Dan, from all of us at AAA Auto Auction Registration Dept.
