John “Jack” Guiggey – passed away on the morning of November 19th at 92 years of age. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife of 69 years, Connie.

Jack grew up in Presque Isle, Maine, the eldest son of Robert and Mildred (Everett) Guiggey. He enjoyed sharing childhood memories with his family, golfing, bowling, competitive rifle shooting, photography, and woodworking.  He was an avid reader, ham radio operator (W1SRX), and a true jack of all trades – there wasn’t a project Jack wouldn’t tackle or a problem he couldn’t solve.

In 1950, Jack took a job at Maine Public Service, where he met his wife-to-be, Connie. After marrying in 1951, Jack joined the Marine Corps and the two set off to Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois before transferring to MCRD San Diego, California. After Jack’s military service, Connie and Jack bought their first home in Woburn, where they raised their four children. Over the years, his career with Motorola took the couple to Nashua, NH and Camp Hill, PA.  Upon retirement from Motorola, they returned to Woburn to be close to family.

Jack was a proud Marine who never let a Marine Corps birthday pass without mention.  He thoroughly enjoyed his time with Woburn Country Club Senior Golf League friends and took great pleasure in his role of grandpa and “GG Jack.” Jack’s wisdom, sense of humor, and kind heart will be greatly missed.
