Edna L. (Meader) Ryan – of Woburn, November 15, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Richard L. “Dick” Ryan. Loving mother of James Ryan, his wife Karen of Stratham, NH, Robert Ryan of Woburn, Barbara Stryker, her husband Gordon of Chelmsford, and the late Richard Ryan. Cherished grandmother of Nicole and Zachary. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. At the family’s request, there are no calling hours. A private burial service will take place in Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn, MA at a later date. In place of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the New Hampshire SPCA, 104 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham, NH 03885. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main St., Woburn, MA.
Edna L. Ryan – 92 of Woburn, MA, died peacefully November 15, 2022, at the Aberjona Nursing center in Winchester, after a period of declining health.
Born in Norwood, MA on March 31, 1930, she was the daughter of Jessie A. and Joseph E. Meader. She held several administrative positions including working at the Pentagon in Washington, and the IRS in Andover, MA.
Edna will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed, and her memory held dear. She also was a lover of animals and enjoyed being with her cats and her dog. She was an avid reader and loved to watch old movies. She enjoyed traveling and had many happy memories of vacations to the Cape with family and going on cruises and many trips with her husband.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Richard, whom she had been married to for 59 years, and their beloved son Ricky. Family members include three children, James Ryan of Stratham, NH and his wife Karen, Robert Ryan of Woburn, MA, and Barbara Stryker of Chelmsford, MA and her husband Gordon. She also is survived by two beloved grandchildren, Nicole and Zachary Stryker of Chelmsford, MA.

Aunt Edna and Uncle Dick have passed. A great generation gone but memories of an Aunt and Uncle who loved their children and who were kind.
To Jimmy, Bobbi, and Barbara my cousins who gave both love and care in their final years.
I knew Edna as Mrs. Ryan. She was a wonderful neighborhood Mom and a very nice woman. My sincere condolences to my great childhood friends Jimmy, Bobby and Barbara. Rest in Peace.
I have so many fond memories of Edna. She was such a dear friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to her wonderful family. W/ Love, Carolyn, John, & Dan Parrish.
We are sorry to hear that Aunt Edna is no longer with us. I remember how much she loved children when I was growing up. I always thought that she had a gift for relating to young children.
