MARIE T. (KIRK) Ward

Marie T. (Kirk) Ward – of Woburn, MA passed away peacefully, at 100 years of age at the Woburn Nursing Center on November 1, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Russell Ward. Devoted mother of the late Russell Ward Jr. Cherished grandmother of Kevin Ward and his companion Jessica Skillings and Krissie DeHart and her husband Paul DeHart both of Maine. Great grandmother of Elijah, Vanessa, and Ava DeHart. Seneca Ward Bailey, Ella Ward Noblet, Dallas and Hollis Ward. Dear sister of Thomas “Tucker” Kirk and the late Eleanor Quigley, Paul Kirk, John Kirk, Rita Kirk, Roseanne Costello, Robert, Charles, and Lawrence Kirk. Marie is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. At Marie’s request a graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 19^th at 11am in Woodbrook Cemetery, 100 Salem Street, Woburn, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, MA o1801.

Marie T. (Kirk) Ward – of Woburn, MA passed away peacefully, at 100 years of age at the Woburn Nursing Center on November 1, 2022.

Marie was the daughter of the late Paul K.T. Kirk and his wife Rose F. (Flaherty) Kirk.  She was one of ten Kirk children.

Marie was the beloved wife of Russell Ward who passed away in 1999. Just prior to her husband’s passing, she lost her only son Russell Ward Jr.  

In her younger days, Marie was extremely devoted to her Catholic faith and until illness and age, slowed her down she always watched the daily mass on television.  

She loved her neighbors who always watched out for her. Card games with neighbors, relatives and friends, vacations at the beach, long walks to Woburn Center and lunch or dinners with special family and friends. 

Marie is survived by her grandson, Kevin Ward and his companion Jessica Skillings of Maine and her granddaughter Krissie (Ward) DeHart and her husband Paul DeHart also of Maine.  

Also surviving are her great grandchildren; Elijah, Vanessa, and Ava DeHart. Seneca Ward Bailey, Ella Ward Noblet, Dallas and Hollis Ward. 

Her only surviving brother is Thomas “Tucker” Kirk of Woburn and her sisters in law Paula (Sullivan) Kirk and Mary (Canavan) Kirk. 

Marie was also the sister of the late; Eleanor Quigley, Paul Kirk, John Kirk, Rita Kirk, Roseanne Costello, Robert, Charles, and Lawrence Kirk, and further survived by numerous nephews and nieces.  

At Marie’s request a graveside service will be held, under the direction of Lynch Cantillon Funeral Home on Saturday, November 19^th at 11am in Woodbrook Cemetery, 100 Salem Street, Woburn, MA.
