Jeanne A Tropea of Woburn, died peacefully, October 27, at the age of 95. She was the beloved wife of 40 years to the late Joseph J Tropea.

Born in Lynn, Jeanne was a daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Noonan) Salvati. The family moved to Woburn when she was 11 yrs old. Jeanne graduated from Woburn High School with the class of 1945 and attended Malden Business School soon after. It was then that she met Joseph.  He drove a group of Woburn students to school each day and she was in his carpool. Jeanne and Joe fell in love and married in 1950. They settled in the Blueberry Hill area, and raised their children.

Jeanne was a very independent woman. She loved to work. She had a job at Brighams as a young girl, and then at Woolworths as a young woman. Jeanne worked at Sylvania while still in high school and went on to eventually begin a career there.  She worked part time, locally, for a while and then went back to Sylvania later in life. Jeanne also worked for Baybank before she fully retired in 1990.

Jeanne thoroughly enjoyed her time at the family lake house on Lake Attitash in Amesbury. She enjoyed having family and friends all around her. She hosted the annual Independence Day celebration for decades including this year.

Jeanne never considered herself crafty but she could knit and crochet. She was passionate about quilting and excelled at it. All of her quilts were lovingly stitched by hand. They are treasured family heirlooms now. Jeanne perfected her pie crust recipe- she claimed it took 20 years to do so. During holidays she would make enough pie dough for 10 pies at a time.

Jeanne loved her family fiercely. Her love was endless for her siblings, her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Jeanne loved her cousins as her own siblings, she loved her nieces and nephews as her own children. She adored her in-laws, friends and neighbors.

Sadly, Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Joseph, son Robert, son-in-law Clifford, and her grandson Justin. She was also predeceased by her parents and brother; Robert, Florence and Bobby.

Jeanne is lovingly survived by her children Elaine Hall, her husband Rolland of NH, Joseph J. Tropea Jr. of Haverhill, the late Robert J. Tropea, Mary J. Wing, her companion John R. Micalizzi of Woburn, and Jay S. Tropea, his husband Daniel J. Mescall of NH. Adored great-grandmother of Samuel, Nicholas and Justin Chiacchia, Alexandra and Nathan Frost, Philip III, Lincoln, and Page Davis, Valentina, Juliana and Angelina Angelosanto, Kaycee, Noah, and Willow Wing, Virginia, and Callum Poore and honorary great-grandmother of Alexis, Kate, Cameron and Emma.  Dear sister of Florence Cryan, Janet Medugno, her husband James, Katherine Bolster, her husband William, Daniel Salvati and the late Robert Salvati. Sister-in-law of Angelina Gonsalves, Teresa Tropea, and Michael Tropea. She is also lovingly survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
