Mary E. (Franson) Jones – of Woburn, died peacefully, with her family by her side, October 27th at the age of eighty-two. She was the beloved wife of 51 years to the late Robert E. Jones Sr.

Raised in Woburn, until 9 years of age and then moved to Winchester, Ma. Mary was a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Fitzpatrick) Franson. She was a graduate of Winchester high school. She met the love of her life, Bob down at Horn Pond. They married and settled in the South End of Woburn, where they raised their four children.

For many years, Mary stayed at home and answered the phone for their business – American Artesian Well Co. She later worked as an office administrator for many years at New England Industrial Truck and retired from Crowne Lift Truck both in Woburn.

Mary loved to tend to her garden and especially loved the Spring when all new life appeared, seeing plants come to life and could start to place her garden gnomes and critters.  She was full of life and love, and had a quick wit that always kept everyone laughing.

Mary was an excellent baker and was known for her famous cream cheese brownies, whoopie pies, chocolate cream pie and Swedish tea-rings and in the early years, she would look forward to picking blueberries on Blueberry Hill each summer. Mary was very crafty and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She loved country music, and dancing. Family and friends were most dear to her.  Her love was endless for her children and grandchildren, and her great grandson, she was so proud of them in everything they achieved.

Mary’s happy place was at her summer home on Halfmoon lake in Barnstead, NH. She loved floating in the water on her special float with a libation or two. So many good memories of fun times; swimming, floating, boating, kayaking, scrabble, Rummy, puzzles, and/or Halfmoon golf Invitational were had by family and friends

Mary had such a sunny disposition. She always tried to look on the bright side and was warm and kind to all she met. Her sense of humor and bright smile, along with her gorgeous blue eyes, will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

Mary is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, Robert E. Jones Jr., his wife Jacquelyn of Tewksbury, Kimberly Shooter, her husband John Gale of Burlington, Brian Jones of Woburn, and Heather Rogers, her husband John of Billerica.
