Carol A. (Wheeler) Post – Of Woburn, died peacefully, August 3rd at her home at the age of seventy-eight. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to Granville R. “Ron” Post.

Born in South Boston, Carol was a daughter of the late Alfred S. and Mary C. (O’Leary) Wheeler. At a young age, her family moved to Lexington where she attended schools and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1962.

In 1964, Carol was introduced to a young man named Ron, by her sister and future brother-in-law. After falling in love, Ron joined the Navy and they married on December 21, 1965, before he was sent to Vietnam. In 1974, they welcomed their son Greg, and then mastered her career as a mother and later a grandmother.

Carol was a proud and supportive mother and never missed a sporting event! You would find her in the stands or on the sidelines, regardless of the weather, cheering on her son and teammates.

After her husband retired, Carol and Ron enjoyed traveling especially to Ireland, Aruba, and the Dominican Republic, as well as also taking several cruises. They enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.

Carol’s greatest joy was her family, and she devoted her life to them.  She will be forever missed and never forgotten.

In addition to her husband Ron, Carol is survived and will be deeply missed by her son Gregory F. Post, his wife Erin of Bedford. Treasured “Grammy” of Abigail and Hailey Post. Dear sister of Dorothy Hamilton, her husband Donald of Woburn, Noreen Trischetta, her husband Michael of Billerica, William McDonough of NH, John McDonough of Carlisle, Alfred Wheeler of NJ and the late Katherine Sachetti of Dorchester.
