Shawn J. Dillon, a lifelong resident of Woburn and a Malden Police Officer, unexpectedly passed away at his home, Friday, July 8th, 2022 The beloved son of Jeff and Liz (Clair) Dillon he was thirty three years of age.
Born in Stoneham, he was one of two children born into the Dillon household. They were raised in the Hurld School neighborhood, where Shawn had attended elementary school, then on to the Joyce and Woburn High School, graduating with the Class of 2007. Throughout high school and college Shawn worked at CVS in Burlington. He began as a cashier, working his way to being part of the Loss Prevention Team in Malden.
On to Plymouth State University, where Shawn received his degree in Criminal Justice in 2011. This was a partial fulfillment of a childhood dream, and the rest followed when he was accepted as a Cadet in the Malden Police Department. Shawn’s childhood dream came to fruition in 2019, when he graduated from the Police Academy and was sworn in as a Malden Police Officer, a position he held and was most proud of right up to his last day.
Over the years Shawn had enjoyed travelling to the different Caribbean islands, Florida, and New Orleans, just to name a few. Shawn was also very proud to become a homeowner in Woburn, just two short years ago, and was dedicated to improving and making his home, just the way he thought it should be.
A very thoughtful, kind, and generous young man, with a beautiful smile, succeeded in achieving and fulfilling his childhood dreams. Shawn has left us much too soon. Remembering Shawn, with that great smile, and “can do” attitude, are memories that will be cherished forever.
