Mary E. Maguire – of Woburn, Sunday, May 1st, at ninety-nine years of age. Beloved daughter of the late Thomas Sr. and Mary Maguire. Dear sister of the late Woburn Police Chief Thomas J. Maguire. Beloved aunt of Charles T. “Chuck” Maguire, and his wife Kathleen of Reading, and the late John B. “Jack” Maguire, WPD, his wife Desireé of Wilmington. Loving great aunt of Patrick, his wife Kristi, Thomas, Sean, Bryan, and Tara. Mary is also lovingly survived by her cousin and care giver Joanne Barry. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Mass on WEDNESDAY, May 4th in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn, MA. Remembrances may be made in Mary’s memory, in John “Jack” Maguire’s WPD name to:  James L. Mary E. Maguire – a lifelong resident of Woburn, died peacefully, Sunday, May 1st, at ninety-nine years of age.

Born and raised in Woburn, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas Sr. and Mary Maguire.  She was educated in Woburn and a graduate of Woburn High School with the class of 1940. She then continued her education at Fisher Business School.

For over 40 years, Mary worked as an executive secretary for the Arthur D. Little Consulting Firm, until retiring in 1985.

After retiring, Mary enjoyed traveling and ventured all around Europe. However, her family was her world and she enjoyed nothing more then spending time with them. As her mother got older, she dedicated her love and time to caring for her. She was a selfless and loving women who will be deeply missed.

    We were sad to hear of Mary’s passing – wow 99! What a nice long life she had. She was incredible and my mom especially loved her. They had a great friendship and fun together.
