Edwin P. Sampson – of Woburn, April 14th at the age of ninety-five. Beloved husband of the late Helen (Smith) Sampson. Devoted father of Charlene Tebbetts, her husband Robert of N. Billerica and Craig Sampson, his wife Lynda of Centerville. Dear brother of the late Arthur Sampson, Vincent Sampson, Rita Crowley and Wilfrid Sampson. Cherished grandfather of 5 and great grandfather of 6. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 26th in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 9 to 11 a.m in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn, MA. Remembrances may be made in honor of Edwins to the Jimmy Fund, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.

Edwin P. Sampson – of Woburn, died peacefully, April 14th at the age of ninety-five. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Smith) Sampson.

Born and raised in Everett, Edwin was a son of the late Joseph and Alvina (Goyetche) Sampson. He was a graduate of Everett High School. After graduation, Edwin enlisted in the US Navy where he served his country proudly during WWII and was honorably discharged at war’s end.

For many years, Edwin worked as a field engineer at first climbing telephone poles then advancing to commercial switchboard installation for AT&T and later Verizon.  Eddie continued to work after retirement until he was 78 years.

Eddie was an avid New England sports fan and never missed a game especially his beloved Red Sox!  He along with his late wife Helen, were president of the Red Hot Squares Dancing Club where they met many good long time friends.  He also loved traveling to many places in this country, the Caribbean and Europe, taking care of his yard, tending to his flowers and pool.  He also loved spending time with his grandchildren swimming, roller skating and playing games.

Devoted father of Charlene Tebbetts, her husband Robert of N. Billerica and Craig Sampson, his wife Lynda of Centerville. Dear brother of the late Arthur Sampson, Vincent Sampson, Rita Crowley and Wilfrid Sampson. Cherished grandfather of 5, Geoffrey Tebbetts (Emily Frank) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jessica (David) Greekwood of Plaistow, NH, Meredith (Steven ) Moore of Atkinson, NH., Kristen (Matthew) Harris of Andover, MA., and Emily (Conor DeMarco ) Sampson of Saratoga Springs, NY:  great grandfather of 6 Dylan and Sonya Greekwood, Bryson and Quinn Moore,  Eva Harris and Esme DeMarco.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.  He too leaves close friends Marion Maniff, Mary Lander, George and Ruth Sharkey and Marie Morris.  The Tebbetts/ Sampson Family would also wish to express gratitude to those who helped Eddie live his best life; Merrimac Valley Hospice, All in One Home Healthcare and the Staff at Heatherwood Independent Living.
