William N. “Bill” Wickwire – of Woburn, peacefully, February 21st at the age of eighty-two. Beloved husband of the late Linda (Merchant) Wickwire. Cherished father of Barbara Ronan, her husband Robert of Woburn, Robert Wickwire, his late wife Pamela of Wakefield, Patricia Briere, her husband Alan of Woburn, Nancy Addonizio of Melrose and Laurie Redford, her husband Greg of Danvers. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Nichole, Dylan, Joshua,Corey, Alex, Emily, Casey, Katie, Joey, Nicole,Katelin, Kelly,Kayla, Kylie, and the late Joseph Briere and seven great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Priscilla Joyce, her husband Patrick, Helen Slocumb, Jane Gentz, and the late Walter “Wick” Wickwire. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Mass on THURSDAY, February 24th in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 8:45 – 10:15 a.m. in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn, MA. William N. “Bill” Wickwire – of Woburn, died peacefully, February 21st at the age of eighty-two. He was the beloved husband of the late Linda (Merchant) Wickwire.
Born in Boston, Bill was a son of the late William and Imelda (Henry) Wickwire. He was educated in Woburn and a graduate of Woburn High School. After high school, Bill went on to serve his country proudly as part of the US Navy during the Cold War, until being honorably discharged.
For many years, Bill worked as an accountant for Hub Glass in Somerville.
Bills family meant the world to him! He was their biggest supporter and never missed an important event. He loved traveling, especially to the Florida Keys and on cruises and visiting Long Beach in Gloucester during the summers.
Bill loved his friends and had friendships that lasted since elementary school. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning you could find him at the local breakfast spot enjoying a meal with great company. He was a past member of the Towanda Club.
