Esther (Girardi) Henehan – of Woburn, peacefully, January 14th at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late John M. Henehan. Loving mother of John J. Henehan, Jr., his wife Kathleen of Andover, Colleen M. Henehan, her fiancé Peter A. Hersee, Jr. of Winchester and the late Theresa M. Monyak. Cherished grandmother of Corinne and Miranda Monyak, Ava and Brooke Henehan, Cody and Derek Hersee, and Kaela DaSilva, her husband Gabe. Dear sister of Nicholas Girardi of Woburn and the late Ralph Girardi Jr. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Mass on FRIDAY, January 21st in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn, MA.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Esther’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.

 

 

 

 

Esther (Girardi) Henehan – of Woburn, died peacefully, January 14th at the age of 81. She was the beloved wife of the late John M. Henehan.
 
A lifelong resident of Woburn, Esther was a daughter of the late Ralph Girardi and Mary (Macinanti) Mancuso. She was educated in Woburn and a graduate of Woburn High School.
 
Esther met her future husband John through a relative while at Horn Pond. After a five year courtship, they  wed in September of 1961. They made their home in Woburn where they raised their three children. 
 
For many years, Esther worked for the Winchester Public School System in their accounts payable department.
 
Esther loved being with her family and together enjoyed vacationing at Hampton Beach and Cape Cod. Esther 
loved playing cards with her aunts and cousins, especially Scat and Texas Holdem but her true passion was playing Bingo.  She was loving but opinionated and not afraid to speak her mind. She was also an avid Bruins and Patriots fan and enjoyed watching them play.
