Maura (Cullinan) Hurley – of Woburn, died peacefully, January 9th, with her family by her side at the age of eighty-two. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Hurley Jr.

Born and raised in Doolin, Ireland, a village on Ireland’s west coast, Maura was a daughter of the late Thomas and Bridget (Sullivan) Cullinan. At the age of 21, Maura immigrated to the US, first moving to Malden, while working in the Airline Industry. At that time, she met her future husband Michael, and together they married in 1964 and raised their family in the Horn Pond Section of Woburn.

Maura devoted her life to her family. She was a woman with a kind heart, quick wit, and a strong faith, who would stand her ground and support and defend the ones she loved. She had a passion for History and enjoyed reading and was a longtime communicant of St. Charles Church.

Maura enjoyed gardening and had a love of flowers, especially for her rose bushes – Rose of Sharon being her favorite!  She was loved by many and will be missed dearly by her family.

Tommy, Mike and Annmarie I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom was well loved. I enjoyed talking with her in the neighborhood and bringing pears over to her when we were little from our pear tree in our yard on Richardson Street. I ran into your Mom some years ago in Woburn Center and we had a nice talk. May she rest in peace.
