Evelyn L. (Peake) Wood- Of Woburn, peacefully, January 1st at the age of seventy-six. Beloved mother of Larry Wood, his wife Stephanie of NY, Robert Wood and Donald Wood of Arizona and the late Billy Wood. Dear sister of Maureen Philbrook of Woburn, Charlene Caron, her husband John of North Chelmsford, Billy Peake, his wife Maxine of NH, Jim Peake, his wife Heather of Tewksbury. Cherished grandmother of Laura, Brendon, Connor, Patrick and Corey. Adored great-grandmother of Marcelline and Lucian. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday, January 6th at 2 p.m.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Calling hours from 1 – 2 p.m. prior to the Funeral Service.  Interment to follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Evelyn’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.

Evelyn L. (Peake) Wood- Of Woburn, died peacefully, January 1st at the Melrose – Wakefield Hospital, at age of seventy-six.

Born in Boston, Evelyn was a daughter of the late William and Mildred (Macomber) Peake. She grew up in Billerica and attended The Ditson School, Howe Junior High School and graduated from Billerica Memorial High School.  

Evelyn was married in August 1963 and lived in Billerica.  She later moved to Reading and spent time in California and Virginia.  After retirement, she moved to Florida where she remained in recent years, until moving back to be closer to family in Melrose and Woburn.  

Evelyn loved to play the slot machines at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.  She enjoyed shopping and buying gifts for everyone. Evelyn took tap dance classes for many years. She performed in a dance recital in Florida when she was in her 50’s. Evelyn had a love for penguins and had a large collection of them.  

Evelyn always had a lot of friends and she loved spending time with family, especially on holidays. She was a very proud mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

    My heart is shattered knowing our time has come to an end. You were like family to me and the time and memories we created will last a lifetime. You and i had a special bond that was so special. I love you so much and will always love you.
