Jeanne (Flaherty) Marashio – a lifelong resident of Woburn, died peacefully, December 31st, at her home, at the age of eighty-six. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter J. Marashio.

Born and raised in Woburn, Jeanne was one of five children: four daughters and a son, born of the late William and Della (Flaherty) Flaherty.

Jeanne dedicated her life to her family, whom she would do anything for. She was a strong, caring, loving, and determined wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

The summertime was a favorite of Jeanne’s as she spent the summer months at her home in South Yarmouth from 1978 until 2019. She adored the beach and the friends she made over the years, especially her “Club” and Card Group.  She never missed an event for any of her grandchildren, as well as great nephews and nieces.  She loved cheering for the kids at sporting events and going to dance recitals. Jeanne was an avid sports fan, but there was nothing she enjoyed watching more than her Patriots.

Jeanne will be deeply missed but never forgotten by the ones that loved her most. Devoted mother of Paul Marashio, Peter Marashio, Jr., his wife LeaAnne, all of Woburn and the late James (Jay) Marashio. Cherished grandmother of Jamie, Lindsey, Kristina and Peter III. Loving daughter of the late William H. and Della (Flaherty) Flaherty. Dear sister of the late William Flaherty, Elizabeth Doherty, Joan McCauley (her twin) and Joyce Flaherty. Also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Mass on THURSDAY, January 6th in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Woodbrook Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 8:30-9:45 a.m. in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn, MA.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanne’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
