Hélène (Kalousis) Mottolo – of Woburn, died peacefully, November 23rd at the age of ninety-three. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank R. Mottolo. Devoted mother of Helen Sullivan, her husband Mark of NC, Grace Goldsby, her husband Don of OK, Linda Mottolo of Woburn, Jean Holmes of NH, Renee Devereaux, her husband Raymond of Melrose, daughter-in-law, Margaret Mottolo of North Andover and the late Frank J. Mottolo. Dear sister of the late Constantine Kalousis and the late Rene Rol. Cherished grandmother of fourteen, great-grandmother of twenty-two and great-great-grandmother of four. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, December 1st at 11:30 a.m. in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn. Interment to follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday 4-7 p.m. in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main Street, Woburn. Hélène Mottolo, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away on November 23. She was 93 years old.

Hélène was born in Marseilles, France. There, she met her beloved husband, the late Frank R. Mottolo, while sitting at an outdoor café during WWII. Their love story carried her across the Atlantic to start a new life in Massachusetts. Together, Helene and Frank devoted their lives to their family, raising six children and doting on their grandchildren.

Over the years, Hélène loved to cook, garden and care for her plants, crochet blankets for family, do crossword puzzles, listen to music and so much more. Above all, Hélène’s greatest source of joy was her family.

Hélène is survived by daughter Helen Sullivan and her husband Mark of NC; daughter Grace Goldsby and her husband Don of OK; daughter Linda Mottolo of Woburn; daughter Jean Holmes of NH; daughter Renee Devereaux and her husband Raymond of Melrose; daughter-in-law, Margaret Mottolo of North Andover, wife to Hélène’s late son Frank J. Mottolo. Hélène was a cherished grandmother of 14, great- grandmother of 22, and great-great-grandmother of four. Dear sister of the late Constantine Kalousis and Rene Rol, Hélène is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

  1. So lucky to have known Helen for many years. Along with Ann, Lillian, and Dottie……..they were the glue of the Hood! God Bless.

    Helena was a wonderful kind person. She definately has a deserves spot in heaven! I’m happy she is at rest peacefully. She will be missed by everyone!
