Marilyn Anne (Dean) English – of Woburn, died peacefully, November 21st at the Winchester Nursing Center, with her family by her side at the age of eighty-six. She was the beloved wife of the late Gene L. English.

Born in Malden, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Claude and Mary (Murphy) Dean.

She was a 1953 graduate of Cheverus Catholic High School and continued on to receive her nursing degree as an LPN. She was devoted to helping others and excelled in her profession. She began her career at the Choate Hospital, where she ended up meeting the love of her life, Gene.

Marilyn and Gene were happily married for 46 years before Gene’s passing in 2004. They settled on Harvard St. Ext. in Woburn where they built their home and raised their four children. She cherished and embraced every moment spent with her family, and especially loved her role as “Nanny” to her beloved grandchildren.

Marilyn enjoyed traveling and visiting new places. However, being home with her family and hosting many gatherings such as birthday parties, holidays, and celebrations, were her favorite. The fondest memories were made at her home, around the kitchen table.

Marilyn always put others before herself and devoted and dedicated her life to her family. Her smile and laugh, especially these last few years, brought comfort to her family.  She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
