Ellen (Murray) Fennell – of North Andover, formerly of Woburn, peacefully, November 9th at seventy – three years of age.  Beloved wife of the late Barry Fennell.  Devoted mother of Barry F. Fennell, his wife Juliann of Wakefield, Sean P. Fennell, his wife Isabella of Boxford and Casey M. Fennell, his wife Kelly of North Attleboro.  Dear sister of Thomas Murray, his wife Judy Ann and the late Catherine Murray, Sylvia Mouldon, Margaret Hickox and John Murray.  Cherished grandmother of Claudia, Anna, Casey Jr., and Riley Fennell.  Ellen is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.  A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, November 12th at 9:30 a.m.  Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Calling hours on Thursday, 3-7 p.m..  Remembrances may be made to honor Ellen to the American Heart Association, 300 Fifth Ave, Unit 6, Waltham, MA 02451.

Ellen A. (Murray) Fennell – of North Andover, formerly of Woburn, died peacefully, November 9th at Lahey Clinic at the age of seventy – three.  Ellen was the devoted wife of the late Barry Fennell.  

Ellen was a beloved daughter of the late John and Ellen (Whalen) Murray. She was educated in the catholic school system in Somerville and after receiving her high school diploma, she attended and graduated from Boston State College with a focus on education.

Ellen dedicated her life to enriching the lives of children through learning. For over 20 years, she taught and impacted many students lives at St. Mary’s School in Melrose. She thoroughly enjoyed teaching and even after retirement, she worked as an aide for St. Michael’s School in North Andover.

In her spare time, Ellen enjoyed traveling. She especially enjoyed visiting family in Ireland. She was a very thoughtful, generous, friendly, and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who was dedicated to her family.

  1. Sincere sympathy to Sean, Barry, Casey and your families, also Tom and Judyann on the death of Ellen. I got a shock on hearing the news as I spoke to her recently. Have many lovely memories of vacations spent with Ellen and Catherine in the U.S. may she rest in peace.

    Ellen lived down the,street from me growing up. We survived many adventures through school. I loved her smile and I fectious laugh. May she rest in peace.
