Doreen (Bouchard) Caliri passed away peacefully at the Hospice House in Danvers, Wednesday, November 3rd surrounded by her loving family. The loving wife of the late Anthony J. Caliri, she was seventy one years of age.

Born in Somerville, Doreen was one of ten children born to the late Joseph L. and Evelyn (Maltacea) Bouchard.  Raised and educated in Somerville, Doreen was a graduate of Somerville High School.

In 1970, Doreen married the true love of her life, Anthony Caliri.  They were dedicated to each other and to their three children for over forty-eight years together.

All throughout Doreen’s life she was a loving caregiver.

After high school Doreen began working at the Somerville Hospital as a Nursing Assistant until she started her family. When her children went to school , she began as a Home Health Aide for  Somerville InterCity Home Care ; later as a Home Health Aide and Nursing Assistant at Woburn Rehabilitation Hospital, Country Club Heights and at The Gables.

Doreen also enjoyed working with people.  She was a waitress for many years at The Paddock in Somerville.

Doreen was never one to sit still!   Cooking, cleaning,  helping family  with whatever was needed Doreen was there.  In her later years Doreen started her own cleaning business. Even in her retirement she enjoyed cleaning.

In her married years Doreen enjoyed traveling with her husband to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. She also loved vacationing in New Hampshire and visiting Storyland with her grandkids. In recent years she enjoyed trips to Foxwoods with her family.

Doreen was always happiest when she had a house full of company.  She took great joy in making Sunday dinner for her grandchildren. It was a time that the family thoroughly enjoyed catching  up , swimming and spending time together.

Doreen’s door was always open to her siblings and their children.  Throughout her life she was a truly dedicated “Aunt.”  Loving them all as if they were her own (which she did consider them!)

A woman of  faith, Doreen and her family were active at St. Anthony Church. Always taking part at the St. Anthony Festival where both she and her husband maintained the fried dough booth over the years!  Again, it was always family participation.

  1. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to all of Doreen’s family and friends. May she rest in the sweetest of peace.

  2. So sad to hear of Dorenes passing. One of the kindest most loving people I’ve had the privilege of knowing. A true role model as to what a mother, grandmother, wife, and sibling should be. Welcomed all with an open heart and always compassionate toward others. You will be missed but Heaven gained an angel. Joe and others will welcome you. ❤️
