Gregg D. Murphy – a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away unexpectedly, Monday morning, September 27th at fifty-four years of age.  Gregg is the son of Carol (Maher) Murphy of Woburn and the late Donald P. Murphy.

Born in Woburn, he was one of six children born into the Murphy clan.  Gregg played football in his early years growing up, but all through high school his focus was on baseball, playing all four years at Woburn High School.  Gregg graduated from Woburn High School, along with the Class of 1985.

Following high school Gregg entered the working world, maintaining long term employment at several companies.  For the last few years, Gregg has been with Rousselot Base Solutions.

Gregg continued his love of sports all throughout his life.  Red Sox and Patriots were the teams and games which he tried to never miss!  Another great sport he enjoyed was that of golf.  He and his late brother Bob would hit the lynx as often, and as frequently as possible. They played anywhere and everywhere there, all throughout the season.

One of Gregg’s greatest joys in life was any, and all the times he spent with his precious nieces and nephews.  He was a very significant presence in their lives individually and all together. Gregg loved spending summer day’s out at the family pool with his nieces and nephews and would be with them all day! He also enjoyed take them on shopping trips and spoil them silly!

Gregg enjoyed sharing in all their successes, accomplishments, birthday’s, graduations, and holiday’s.  And in those times that they may have needed a helping hand, or a person to talk with, Gregg was there.

All throughout Gregg’s life, family was first and foremost.  He was very attentive to his mom over the years, making sure everything, in, about and around her home was taken care of.  Gregg was a wonderful son, terrific brother “very special uncle” and cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
