Robert W. Pierce – of Reading, died peacefully September 7th at the age of seventy-five. Bobby was a good man. Quiet, unassuming, easy in conversation, kind to all he met. By choice he lived a simple life.

Born on December 20, 1945, in Boston, MA. He was the oldest of 5 brothers and the son of the late Joseph R. and Helen J. (Brosnan) Pierce. He grew up in Dorchester and Woburn, graduating Woburn High School class of 1963 (With honors we think? wink wink).

He spent his wonder years in Woburn during the 60’s and 70’s. Free range like all in those days when life was much simpler. A painter by trade, early on with his grandfather Howie in the Milton area and he spent the later part of his career in Woburn & Reading.

Bobby spent countless hours in Pa’s garage on School St. There was always a project or repairs to be made. The wood stove, a Red Sox game or talk radio were often on. The garage was a special place for Bobby and all who spent time there.

As time passed, he moved back home to help care for his aging parents. His brothers truly appreciated all he did for them over the many years. We are all the better for having known him.

He is survived by his brothers Walter F. of Derry, NH and his late wife Roberta; William and his wife Linda of Sanford, FL; James and his wife Colleen of Derry, NH; Paul and his wife Doreen of Tewksbury, MA. Favorite uncle of Rachel, Jennifer, Melissa, Hannah, Mackenzie, Jeffrey, Andrew, and the late Joseph Pierce. Great-uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are private and under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, MA 01801.
