Rodrick J. “Rod” Gantz – of Woburn and a long time resident of Medford,  passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 3rd at the age of seventy-five. He was the beloved husband of Michele (Smith) Gantz.

Born in Medford, Rod was the loving son of the late Paul and Muriel (Rudolph) Gantz. After high school, Rod served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged.

For many years, Rod was employed as a commercial truck driver in the Boston area.

Rod was an avid lover of fishing – both in fresh and salt water. When he wasn’t fishing, or spending time with his family, he was out meeting and talking to people and making new friends.  He is loved by many in every neighborhood he has lived in. He was very good friend of Bill Wilson for many years.

Rod dedicated his life to his family and was a proud, loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed but remembered in the hearts of the ones he loved most, forever.

Along with his wife Michele, Rod is survived and will be deeply missed by his children, Jason and his wife Jacinta, Jessica and her Partner Jay, Danielle and her husband Tony, Brittany, her fiancé Adam, Daniel, Timothy and his fiancé Sean, Brady, Isabella, Kayleigh and late Paul. Beloved Grandpa of Zachary, Elissa, Joseph, Olivia (that’s my spot!) and Melanie.
