Mary Elizabeth (Mawn) Negri , 89, died peacefully on June 29, 2021 surrounded by her loving husband and children.  Born in Woburn to the late Thomas and Catherine (McEleney)  Mary was a life long Woburn resident, a graduate of Saint Charles High School,  continuing on to business school.

After working briefly in the business sector, she shifted into education as a secretary for the Woburn School Department.  There she worked for the Superintendent and the Administrator of Special Ed; additionally, she was the sole note-taker for the school committee for many years.  Mary took her job seriously, whether in a career setting or family setting as a wife, mother, aunt and Nana. At the Hurld School, she was like an extra mother to all the students; many of whom fondly remember her.  Mary was devoted to her family and took pride in the accomplishments of all of her children and grandchildren.  “Nana Pie” and Irish bread were her specialties.  She loved her daughters- and son-in-laws as if they were her own.  She enjoyed spending family time going out to eat (as long as the food was piping hot), catching up on the news or playing Skip-Bo.

Family vacations were spent camping, skiing, enjoying the Cape House, or watching the grandkids’ and enjoying special trips to Disney World.  A classy lady who enjoyed looking her best, she loved to go shopping, especially for bargains, and putting together a nice outfit.  When out-and-about, Mary liked socializing in the community and people watching.  She was blessed with longevity and family.  Although she had several close moments when it didn’t look good, her faith carried her through and she always seemed to rally; may she rest in peace.  Mary was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Catherine (McEleney)Mawn, her siblings James J. and Thomas Mawn, Louise S. (Mawn) McDonough, and James and Kathleen McLaughlin, as well as her beloved niece, Mary Lou ((McDonough) McGondel.

Mary will be sorely missed by her husband Dominic “Doe” Negri, her children Robert F. Negri, his wife Pamela, Catherine (Negri) Servaes, her husband Vincent and Thomas M. Negri, his wife Kimberly.
