Mark A. Callahan – Of Woburn, suddenly passed away on April 28th at the age of 47. Beloved father of Casey Cox and Carter Higgins. Loving son of Joan (Haverty) Callahan of Woburn and the late Russell Callahan Sr. Preceded in death by his beloved brother SFC Keith A. Callahan. Dear brother of Russell, David, Joni, Barbara, Jerome, Stephen and Colleen. Grandson of the late William and Cecilia Haverty and Bernard and Barbara Callahan. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mark’s Funeral Mass, Friday, May 7th at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn. Burial and full Military Honors to follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Masks MUST be worn at all times, along with strict adherence to social distancing.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main St., Woburn, MA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Friends of Woburn Veterans, 144 School Street Woburn Ma 01801.

Mark A. Callahan – of Woburn, beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away suddenly on April 28, 2021 at the age of 47.

Mark was a lifelong resident of Woburn and a graduate of Woburn High School. Throughout his youth, Mark was active in sports, both in the Woburn City league and in the Woburn school system.

Mark served proudly in the US Army in the 1-29 Infantry stationed at Fort Benning, Ga. Mark assisted with the Hurricane Katrina Recovery in Louisiana and spent some time in the Middle East, until being honorably discharged. 

Mark will be missed by those who loved him; his mother Joan, sons Casey Cox and Carter Higgins, his brother Russell and his wife Deborah, David, Joni, Barbara, Jerome and his wife Andrea, Stephen and his fiancée Jennifer Gorman, Colleen and her husband Doug Hansen, sister-in-law Dody Callahan, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

We know Mark is now with his beloved brother, SFC Keith A. Callahan who preceded him in death while serving our country in Iraq. Mark will now join his father Russell Sr., brother Joseph, grandparents William and Cecelia Haverty and Bernard and Barbara Callahan.
